Internship Opportunities

Each of our internships provide remote-working opportunities. Our internships are designed to provide weekly one-on-one trainings to increase your knowledge base and reach your professional goals. You will interact with real agency clients, with a supervisor, and learn first-hand the marketing struggles businesses encounter. You will have access to team brainstorming sessions to determine the best tactics and strategy plans to achieve client goals.

Social Media Specialist Intern

As a social media specialist intern, you will learn how to set goals, and develop social media campaigns that engage and reach an identified target audience. The intern will set social media objectives, select social media content, and use data to drive changes in strategy and tactics. The intern will also become familiar with the best practices of social media platforms and how these practices integrate into defined strategies.

A qualified candidate will have theoretical knowledge in the following categories:
  • Basic Knowledge of Social Media Platforms - Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat, Google+, LinkedIn
  • Aware of Google Analytics and Insights on Social Media Platforms
  • Ability to adopt an attitude and willingness to learn
  • Be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Be willing to cross-train on other digital marketing tactics and learn how those tactic work together in integrated marketing strategies. 
  • Availability for weekly training webinars and training conferences.
  • Seamless coordination amongst multiple internal teams to create effective and engaging content
  • Collaborating enterprise-wide to support all channels’ needs and strategic initiatives that drive growth
  • Establishing processes for the planning, publishing, and analysis of social programs that can scale with client business
  • “Plugging In” to fully understand what excites our customers and what makes our business tick with the ability to merge the two in the form of successful social media content
  • Monitoring social trends and engaging in social chatter to be the voice in relevant conversations

Content Marketing Intern

As a content marketing specialist intern, you will learn how to develop content centered around client brands both visually and verbally. This position supports the design, email marketing and social media marketing departments and works cohesively with those departments to ensure consistency in brand voice, and archetypal identifiers. 

A qualified candidate will have theoretical knowledge in the following areas as well as the following additional skills:
  • Basic Knowledge of Social Media Platforms, SEO, Email Marketing, and Blogging Concepts
  • Aware of the importance of analytical data and the ability to make data-driven recommendations and decisions
  • Ability to adopt an attitude and willingness to learn
  • Be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Be willing to cross-train on other digital marketing tactics and learn how those tactics work together in integrated marketing strategies. 
  • Availability for weekly training webinars and training conferences
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Must adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, able to change approach or method to best fit the situation, and able to deal with change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other team members
  • Must be able to think creatively, outside of the box, and a strong project manager
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Office suite and PowerPoint. Some experience with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop a plus
  • Possess ability to communicate brand messaging through content, a design sensibility to envision how content will be presented
  • Should be flexible with change and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • High attention to detail

Email Marketing Intern

As an email marketing intern, you will learn how to plan, develop and execute direct marketing email campaigns in an efficient and effective manner generating a positive ROI and enhancing engagement and loyalty. Responsible for ensuring delivery of campaigns on time, meeting e-mail response and ROI goals, with high quality and low errors.

A qualified candidate will have theoretical knowledge in the following areas as well as the following additional skills:
  • Aware of the importance of analytical data and the ability to make data-driven recommendations and decisions
  • Ability to adopt an attitude and willingness to learn
  • Be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Be willing to cross-train on other digital marketing tactics and learn how those tactics work together in integrated marketing strategies. 
  • Availability for weekly training webinars and training conferences
  • Manage production of copy and creative components to ensure visually compelling, on-time delivery that increases open, click thru, response rates and conversions.
  • Develop the overall strategy for monthly e-mail volume to support initiatives across all departments.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across other online channels, collaborating with print and online subject matter experts.
  • Ensure campaigns are effectively targeted in order to deliver highly relevant content to interest groups and to appropriately manage audience overlap from various database segments. Leverage e-mail marketing best practices to optimize ROI and partner loyalty.
  • Ensure all communications are consistent with Jewish Voice brand and marketing guidelines and voice.
  • Drive in-market tests with defined test and control cells to continually learn and improve ROI results. Incorporate learned data into future plans.
  • Leverage partner research to develop programs and direct e-mail marketing best practices, non-profit industry best practices, and system capabilities to maximize results.
  • Conduct and deliver standard post-promotion analysis on campaign effectiveness including ROI analysis (on a segment and total audience basis), test vs. control, and results vs. prior campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain 12 month integrated e-mail marketing calendar to support communications needs of all Jewish Voice departments.
  • Fully utilize all CRM tools to increase responses and positively impact ROI.
  • Manage production of copy and creative components to ensure visually compelling, on-time delivery that increases open, click thru, response rates and conversions.
  • Develop the overall strategy for monthly e-mail volume to support initiatives across all departments.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across other online channels, collaborating with print and online subject matter experts.

SEO Specialist Intern

As a SEO specialist intern you will learn to understand the client’s short and long term company goals and develop strategic roadmaps to meet those goals.  You will learn a variety of other SEO focused objectives such as:
  • Analyzing backlinks, determining quality links and creating link building strategies that follow SEO best practices. 
  • Communicating SEO strategies and goals to internal teams, including: Web Designers, Account Managers, Paid Strategists, and Social Media
  • Outline content creation plans to assist SEO keyword goals.
  • Optimize videos, images, etc.
  • Analyze and Monitor site and page performance for keywords.
  • Gather and analyze competitor intelligence.
  • Assist in implementation of emerging advanced SEO tactics.

A qualified candidate will have theoretical knowledge in the following areas as well as the following additional skills:
  • Knowledge of technical, local, and e-commerce SEO
  • Strong knowledge of search engine algorithms and industry tools
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, webmaster tools, and Excel (Google Analytics Certification will be required by the end of the internship if a permanent position within the company is offered.)
  • Knowledge of HTML, Javascript, and CSS
  • Knowledge of on-page optimization for WordPress, Drupal, Shopify and other platform-based websites
  • Ability to work effectively across an organization to ensure integrated marketing efforts
  • Aware of the importance of analytical data and the ability to make data-driven recommendations and decisions
  • Ability to adopt an attitude and willingness to learn
  • Be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Be willing to cross-train on other digital marketing tactics and learn how those tactics work together in integrated marketing strategies.
